Get off the beaten track

Jun 30, 2012 | Blog

There’s so much to do in the city at this time of year it’s hard to know where to start, so here’s a couple of little gems to be found this weekend away from the well beaten tracks.

First on the list is Gallery on the Corner’s exhibition HOPE featuring new works by ASHA, an art projct supporting people who’s lives have been affected by violence. Tucked away down a flight of stairs on Northumberland Street, Gallery on the Corner is a beautiful space promoting inclusive art – it was originally set up to show work by artists who have disability, mental health problems as well as from disadvantaged backgrounds. A great space, ethic and with some unique artwork – HOPE is on until July 14th https://thegalleryonthecorner.org.uk/

Second, and something a bit different The Bon Bon Box is the first of a series of unqiue happenings from Dream Out Loud events and will be popping up underneath Bon Vivant on Thistle Street Sunday 1st July 11am-6pm.  Mostly for the ladies (although men welcome to join too!) The Bon Bon Box will offer a ‘magical social shopping event’ with everything from vintage clothes to jewellery and plenty of other fabulous curiosities. Word is there’s going to be some vintage hair do’s and planty of chat… sounds perfect! Check out their blog  https://www.idreamoutloud.co.uk/ and get on over there for a wee treat.
