Description

Arthur’s Sit is a playful pun on Edinburgh’s well loved “Arthur’s Seat” which is a craggy, extinct volcano, found in the heart of Edinburgh.  This site is well used by dog walkers, runners, cyclists and tourists alike.

The adorable pup featured in this print is called Bob.  The artist, Beth Longmore first met Bob in the fantastic coffee ” Brew Lab” just after Bob had finished an adventure round Arthur’s Seat.  Since then Bob, his owner and Beth have met many times whilst out and about in Edinburgh, meaning Bob is very much an Edinburgh pooch!

Instead of bounding up the Crags, Bob is pictured slumped on a seat like the rest of the after work crowd.  Constantly shifting and unsettled, he can’t fully relax till he’s back home  The artist has captured Bob’s alert energy which feels appropriate to the bus seat background as Lothian Busses are a part of Edinburgh’s ever changing landscape.  Look out for the pattern on your travels, which features local landmarks including Arthur’s Seat.

Created by Beth Longmore for the “Crag & Tale” exhibition, for which we encouraged illustrators to look at Edinburgh from a different perspective. Curated by Nicky Brooks at the Red Door Gallery you can read more about this exhibition here.

This listing is for an A3 sized print, signed by the artist.
