We love spring and the early ?sunny mornings that they bring. The gardens are full of little birds and it’s a treat to wake up to their bird song. This has inspired this weeks blog as we showcase some of the lovely bird related works we have behind our Red Doors this week.
The arrival of The Nightingale by Patrizio Belcampo was perfect timing for this weeks blog. The latest addition to his A-Z bird series We’re delighted to receive new work from Patrizio, and already thinking of a place for it in our own collections. You’ll be excited to hear that he has new work in the pipeline too.
Birds in Hats? Why not we say and we’re sure you’re all in agreement, as these guys have been super popular with you all this week. We have more on order from the talented Alice Tams but let’s just appreciate this beautiful Peacock in a Scottish Bonnet!
Or the gorgeous summery colours of The Lilac Breasted Roller in her Floral Crown. With so many little birds to choose from, we’re sure you’ll find your favourite.
Why not carry a mini illustration with you every day? We love Alice’s lovely Enamel Pin Brooches, the perfect miniature version of her prints. There are 7 Birds to choose from and all are equally as cute as the next. Sea Birds, Garden Birds, Tropical Birds. What will you choose? We can’t resist the colourful Budgie in his Trilby.
We love a garland, whether it’s for a birthday party or just to add colourful touches to a room, what could be cuter than this hand screen printed bird garland from the lovely Ellie of Glasgow based East End Press. Available in pastel or bright it’s sure to bring cheer to any room. Also available in a super cool Fish Design too.
Embroidery is having its moment and we couldn’t think of a more enjoyable afternoon. Ditch the phones and computers for an afternoon listening to your favourite radio station( we highly recommend Jarvis Cocker’s Sunday Service) and getting your embroidery on, hopefully in a sunny garden spot. This cute Puffin by Hawthorn Handmade is definitely a favourite.
With the Weekend in sight, it’s time to hit relax mode and have yourself some much needed down time. Whatever you get up to, keep your eyes peeled for all the beautiful birds around you.
Happy Weekend…………..Tweet Tweet!!?
