UK Tracked All UK deliveries are charged at a flat rate of £4.95 using Royal Mail ‘Tracked 48 Service’ (see https://www.royalmail.com/sending/uk/tracked-48). We generally dispatch all orders on the same day (if ordered before 11am) and the Royal Mail Tracked 48 service aims for delivery within 2 to 3 working days (although there can be longer delivery times in peak season, i.e. Xmas!).
UK Special Delivery 1pm We offer ‘Royal Mail Special Delivery’ (next working day service for UK deliveries). This is available for most orders (maximum of 2KG Weight) at a cost of £10.95. We offer this service on our website and we need to receive orders by11am for same day dispatch (no dispatch over weekends!).
European Postage All European deliveries (all Countries in the EU/ EEA) are charged at £14.95 – this is a fully tracked service using a ‘Tracked Service’ and post Brexit we are shipping to the EU on a ‘DDU/DAP’ (delivery and duties unpaid) basis.
Rest of the World / International Postage Depending on destination international deliveries (i.e. not EU) are charged at £21.95 with the exception of Australia, New Zealand and also The United States of America (who dramatically increased USA prices in August 2020 🙁). These 3 destinations are charged at £24.95 for a ‘Signed for / Tracked’ mail service (max 2kg shipping weight for goods and the overall dimensions of package not to exceed 90 cm).
Pick up from Store / Click & Collect Remember if you’re a local customer, you can simply pay for your goodies online and then pick them up for ‘free’ when your next in town. Just select the ‘Collect from Store’ option when you purchase with us on-line. Our wonderful store is at 42 Victoria Street, Edinburgh, EH1 2JW.
Out of Stock Whilst we strive to ensure the accuracy of our website, there may be some occasions when we are ‘out of stock’ of a particular item. In such instances, we will advise you with an estimated delivery date, offer you an alternative (if possible) or give you a full refund of your purchase.
Customs Charges International Orders (i.e. EU / EEA and Rest of the World)
- The Red Door Gallery is currently shipping internationally on a ‘DDU’/ DAP (delivery and duties unpaid) basis.
- Every country will have their own VAT, duties and customs handling fees, so you will be responsible for paying additional fees (usually to the postal service) before your order is delivered.
- All prices are exclusive of VAT and you will be charged local VAT on the goods (i.e. relevant to the Country you live). For example, in Germany this is 19%.
- We fill in a customs form and the customer is responsible for all import VAT, handling fees and customs duties (*) due to the governing authority. * please note that the ‘Brexit free trade deal’ means that Goods “originating” in the UK (which most of our goods are) will not be subject to customs duties in the EU.
Standard Delivery /Timescales We ship most orders either the same day or day after receipt. Once dispatched, we will email you with ‘tracking information’ and to let you know the goods are on their way. Normal delivery timescales are as follows, although not guaranteed.
- UK – 2 to 4 working days (can be longer in peak season)
- European – 5 to 7 working days (may be longer due to seasonal demand, i.e. Christmas delays)
- International / Rest of World – 7 to 10 working days

Returns & Exchanges: Damaged goods – In the unlikely event that your order arrives damaged, please contact us ‘immediately’ so that we can arrange a replacement. For insurance purposes, we also need to have photographic evidence of the damage to the product / the packaging and will also require the damaged goods and original packaging to be returned to us before we can ship a replacement to you.
Exchanges / Credit Note – Whilst we hope that you are delighted with your order, we understand that sometimes you may wish to return the goods. Please email us to let us know, post the item back within 14 days of receipt to our address below and we will gladly offer you an exchange, credit note or gift voucher. Please note, we are not able to offer exchanges for earrings. Please note that that you will be responsible for the cost of postage back to us. Please wrap the items very securely in original packaging and use insured / registered delivery, keeping the postal receipt in case of any damage in transit. We cannot accept liability for goods lost or damaged in transit.
