In 1910, Murray + Pullar conducted a Bathymetrical Survey of 562 fresh water lochs in Scotland. This data is still the most comprehensive. There are five key tables within the survey. This is a collection of twenty lochs scoring highly across all areas. Loch Ness contains the largest volume of water. Excluding the top 10, the next 45 biggest lochs could be emptied into Loch Ness and it would still not be full. This cumulative volume of water is iluustrated by the mountain. The trees illustrate the area of the lochs and the mountains reflected in the water represent mean and maximum depth. The table is ordered by depth.
