Tree Rings (Hot) Risograph
£ 30.00
This print is based on data collected from daily weather data in the UK over the past 100 years.
The image represents tree rings. New tree rings grow each year and are directly affected by the weather.
The tree rings here have been created using weather data and so are literally affected by weather temperature.
This tree has been created from the maximum weather temperatures in the UK over the past 100 years. The data used to shape the tree rings is daily and so roughly each degree of each ring represents a day and each ring represents a year. The outer tree ring reflects the data from 2020 and January is situated at 12 o’clock.
The splits in the tree indicate the hottest year by month (out of all 100 years). You can see the splits do not extend very far into the tree indicating that the hottest months are more current. The size of the split for each year indicates how much hotter the hottest year was compared to each year since, on the same day.
The maximum annual temperatures are listed below the image of the tree.
The print is a risograph, which has been printed by Earth Press Risograph Studio. Risograph is a cross between a screen print and a photocopy and uses soy based inks, which are environmentally friendly.
The paper has been made by the environmentally responsible paper mill, situated in Sweeden, using FSC accredited pulp.
Each print is posted in packaging made from 100% paper and cardboard and is completely recyclable. Every aspect of the packaging is made and printed in the UK.
