Finch and Robin is the design and print label created by northerner Kate Mclelland who has been providing us with her brilliant designs for over 3 years now! Having already completed a degree in Theatre Design at Wimbledon School of Art in London, Kate also recently graduated from Edinburgh College of Art with an MFA in Illustration.
Kate frequently creates her colourfully geometric illustrations for the likes of Lotta Magazine, Lonely Planet, Floris Books and Paragon Books and has illustrated several children’s books including ‘My First Scottish Colours’, ‘My First Scottish Things That Go’ and ‘There Was a Wee Lassie Who Swallowed a Midgie’.
Kate has also been nominated for numerous illustration awards like Penquin Design Award (James and the Giant Peach), V & A Design Competition (Deer and Rabbit) and D&AD Student Award (Fleet Foxes concertina)
A keen printer Kate enjoys spending her time experimenting with textures, colours and narrative themes in her home studio or her local printmakers.
