POSTAL / LOCAL PICK UP SERVICES

UK Postage All UK deliveries are sent via Royal Mail on Tracked Express (1-2 days) and Tracked Standard (3-5 days). We endeavour to dispatch all orders on the same day (for orders placed before 1pm).

UK Special Delivery (next working day) We offer ‘Royal Mail Special Delivery’ (next working day service for UK deliveries) for orders placed before 1 pm.

Pick up from Store / Click & Collect Remember if you’re a local customer, you can simply pay for your goodies online and then pick them up for ‘free’ when you’re next in town. Just select the ‘Collect from Store’ option when you purchase with us on-line. Our wonderful store is at 42 Victoria Street, Edinburgh, EH1 2JW.

European Postage Unfortunately, we are not currently sending to the EU but hope to resume services soon, please keep an eye on our website and social media for future updates. There is max 2kg shipping weight for goods with overall dimensions of package not exceeding 90 cm (length + width + height).

USA Unfortunately, we are not currently sending to the USA whilst we review the impacts of the new customs tariffs, but hope to resume services soon. Shipping price displayed is for a 2kg max shipping weight for goods with overall dimensions of package dimensions not exceeding 90 cm.

Rest of the World We send to certain international destinations (please see our checkout page for a full list of our current destinations). International postage is a ‘Tracked’ mail service. Shipping price displayed is for a 2kg max shipping weight for goods with overall package dimensions not exceeding 90 cm. If your country is not currently listed, please contact us as we still may be able to send to your destination.

N.B. Please note for EU, USA and Rest of the World that if your order is above 2kg then it may still be possible to ship your order. In these circumstances, we will advise of the additional shipping cost whereupon you can decide either to proceed with your purchase or to cancel and request a full refund.

CUSTOMS CHARGES, IMPORT DUTY AND VAT 

Please note that The Red Door Gallery (the seller) is not liable for any customs charges or import VAT that may be applicable on goods dispatched and received in EU, EEA and other International Destinations (i.e. countries other than the UK). It should be noted therefore that customers (the buyer) may have to pay additional charges for import Duty and/or VAT to their respective governing tax authority which would typically be to the postal carrier and delivery agent. Customs process may delay the delivery of goods from the times stated.

European Union /EEA Countries (VAT) – Whilst there is no ‘Import Duty’ applicable (due to the Brexit Agreement) on goods imported from UK, VAT is now payable on all goods imported from the UK, eg. France VAT 20%, Spain VAT 21%, Germany VAT 19%.

INCOTERMS

All EU/EEA and International Deliveries are sent on a ‘Delivered at Place’ (DAP) basis, which means the seller is responsible for the delivery of the goods (including transport costs) to the named destination of the buyer. The costs of carrying out all the necessary customs  / import formalities are expressly excluded. These costs (if applicable) are borne by the buyer, meaning that all taxes incurred when importing to the country of destination must be paid by the buyer or the recipient.

Out of Stock Whilst we strive to ensure the accuracy of our website, there may be some occasions when we are ‘out of stock’ of a particular item. In such instances, we will advise you with an estimated delivery date, offer you an alternative (if possible) or give you a full refund of your purchase.

Customs Charges International Orders (i.e. EU / EEA and Rest of the World)

  • The Red Door Gallery is currently shipping internationally on a ‘DDU’/ DAP (delivery and duties unpaid) basis.
  • Every country will have their own VAT, duties and customs handling fees, so you will be responsible for paying additional fees (usually to the postal service) before your order is delivered.
  • All prices are exclusive of VAT and you will be charged local VAT on the goods (i.e. relevant to the Country you live). For example, in Germany this is 19%.
  • We fill in a customs form and the customer is responsible for all import VAT, handling fees and customs duties (*) due to the governing authority. * please note that the ‘Brexit free trade deal’ means that Goods “originating” in the UK (which most of our goods are) will not be subject to customs duties in the EU.

Returns & Exchanges: Damaged goods In the unlikely event that your order arrives damaged, please contact us ‘immediately’ so that we can arrange a replacement. For insurance purposes, we also need to have photographic evidence of the damage to the product / the packaging and will also require the damaged goods and original packaging to be returned to us before we can ship a replacement to you.

Exchanges / Credit Note  Whilst we hope that you are delighted with your order, we understand that sometimes you may wish to return the goods. Please email us to let us know, post the item back within 14 days of receipt to our address below and we will gladly offer you an exchange, credit note or gift voucher. Please note, we are not able to offer exchanges for earrings. Please note that that you will be responsible for the cost of postage back to us. Please wrap the items very securely in original packaging and use insured / registered delivery, keeping the postal receipt in case of any damage in transit.  We cannot accept liability for goods lost or damaged in transit.
