‘ Charlie is My Darling ‘ is part of a folio of 8 screenprints celebrating traditional Scottish folk songs – some well known like ‘Skye Boat Song’ and ‘Ae Fond kiss’ and includes some lesser known works such as ‘Wthin a mile of Edinburgh town’ and ‘The Scottish bluebells’ too. It is delightful to see these traditional Scottish songs reinterpreted and brought up to date by Emily’s tradmark style.  Originally created as paper cuts, this Screenprint has been taken directly from the hand papercut piece and printed in a limited edition of 30.

The ‘Charlie’ refered to in the text is Bonnie Prince Charlie, officially known as Prince Charles Edward Stewart, on whose behalf the Jackobite Rebellion of 1745 was actioned.

Hand printed in Edinburgh by the artist.
