Kate & The Ink

Kate Dowling aka Kate & the Ink, is an Edinburgh-based graphic designer and illustrator. Inspired by the aesthetics of yesteryear, and with a particular interest in the graphic presentations of a pre-digital age, Kate brings new meaning to old things. What may have been mundane, everyday and forgettable becomes fresh and contemporary. Recreating infographics and vintage educational designs, Kate breathes new life into that which we may think of as outdated and obsolete.
Her ‘UK Shipping Areas’ print is an all time favourite here in the gallery, which she has recently expanded to include further chart designs.
