Kirsty Baynham

Kirsty Baynham is fanatical about symmetry, geometry and line, interests which would point to a minimal style of illustration. What keeps Kirsty’s work so fresh is that she combines this regimented and balanced approach to print making, with her love of animals. A beautifully captured cat, fox or other woodland creature will be illustrated within her intricate, geometric world. Kirsty can see pattern-making tessellations with mathematical precision in the most rugged of landscapes.

The Red Door Gallery started working with Kirsty just after she graduated from Edinburgh college of Art Illustration department. Over the years since graduating, Kirsty has developed the unique, quirky product range you see here. Working under the name “Prism of Starlings” Kirsty’s mix of textiles, paper-based works and etched wood pieces allow you to carry her charming characters with you in your day to day life.
